Heat Exchanger----A Brief Introduction about the Brass Tube
The common brass tube, made of the alloy of copper and zinc, is a kind of seamless tube. But if it also contains other elements such as lead, tin, ferrum, nickel and silicon, it is called special brass tube. The special brass tube is of great hardness, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance. The brass tube is widely applied in many areas such as architecture, electric industry and oil industry.
Usually, the brass tubes are classified according to their hardness and performance. The brass tube of H59 type is relatively cheap and can be well processed by press working through heat treatment. But its hardness is not satisfactory. This kind of brass tube is mainly used as the components of machines, welding parts, and hot rolling parts. Another type of brass tube is H62, which enjoys excellent mechanical property and merchantability. But it tends to erode and crack in the normal environment. These characteristics make it suitable for being bent parts.
The brass tube H80 and H85 have good plasticity, high hardness, and are corrosion resistant in the air and sea water. They are often used as architectural parts, radiating tube, corrugated pipe, syphon, coiled pipe and other parts of the cooling devices.
The heat exchanger brass tube is a common application of the H85 type of tube. The heat exchanger is a kind of equipment which transmits the heat of thermal fluid to cold fluid in order to keep a certain material at a fixed temperature. The heat exchanger can be seen in the chemical plant and power station. In addition, it is also used in the air conditioners as a main part. Another reason for the brass tube being taken as the ideal material for heat exchanger tube is that it enjoys perfect thermal conductivity. Due to the corrosion resistance and high hardness, the H85 tube in the heat exchanger can ensure a rather long service life of the exchanger, which frees you of frequent repairs and additional expenses.
The last types of the grass tube are H90 and H96, which are known as high precision brass tubes. They can be easily welded, forged and tin plated and enjoy desirable stress corrosion resistance. These tubes are often applied as the condenser pipe, automobile radiator, and drain pipe and so on.
In all, the brass tube is widely used in many areas since it has a lot of advantages in being parts of the equipment in the architectural, electric, and oil industry.
