US steel pipe makers seek AD duty on OCTG import from 9 nations

A group of steel pipe makers in the United States have asked US International Trade Commission to consider imposing anti-dumping duties on what they say is a flood of unfairly traded products from nine countries.

The petition, filed late on Tuesday on behalf of companies including US Steel Corporation, asked the commission to investigate imports of certain steel pipe products used mainly in the oil and gas industry from India, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam.

Petitioners include: Boomerang Tube; Energex Tube, a division of JMC Steel Group; Maverick Tube Corporation; Northwest Pipe Company; Tejas Tubular Products; TMK IPSCO; United States Steel Corporation; Vallourec Star LP; Welded Tube USA Inc.

Petitioners are also seeking countervailing duties on certain OCTG from India and Turkey.
